HAPPY 4th of July

 How is it already the 4th of July?!?  This trip is just flying by.

For breakfast, I made pancakes and then we went off to look for whales in Depoe Bay which is about 40 minutes north of where we are staying.

The coastline is beautiful here, but alas no whales were close enough to be seen from the shore. (I have video but no photos for some reason!)

We had our first meal that was lacking, my fish was overcooked, and James' pizza was not very tasty at the Horn Public House and Brewery.

This is a place we would like to go back and explore further but with no whales out today we decided to head back to camp and walk to the nearby beach on the river.

The beach was fantastic because other than one other family, we had it to ourselves and there was plenty of driftwood to play with for Danny and it was quiet enough to enjoy my book!

We returned to camp for a supper of left overs and then watched movie 2 of the Hobbit.

Newport did have fireworks but we all felt pretty tired and decided not to go because tomorrow we head to our last town on this tour, BANDON!!!!!!
