Portland

Our day began with a slight hiccup, after an attempt to light the stove, we discovered that there was a slight problem and resorted to cereal for breakfast.

Not to worry as we wanted to head out for donuts anyway.

Doe Donuts is fabulous, Danny enjoyed a lemon bomb, James had a french cinnamon twist, and I had a turtle donut. These vegan donuts were amazing.

Then it was time to head to Powell's Books.

For the uninitiated, it is a multi level book store and absolute heaven, so many adventures away on each shelf.

After perusing we went out to lunch, James and Danny went to Little Big Burger and I went to Aviv, an Israeli restaurant.  (I got the falafel bowl, highly recommend.)

We next thought about heading to OMSI the science museum but decided to wait until tomorrow.

Instead we went to Green Bean books, a delightful independent book shop that specializes in children's literature.

We chatted a bit with the shop owner and got an awesome tip on a nearby Beverly Cleary Statues in Grant Park.

Danny and I both love Ramona and so it was a true treasure to find and bonus park to play in, (the rain of course.)

On the way back to our campground we found our way to Oregon City and learned a bit of Oregon's history AND saw some incredible falls.

Then we headed back to our site, and all those little tasks like organizing things, cleaning, and Danny created some cool artwork.

Tomorrow OMSI awaits!!
